Recognition of Prior Learning

The Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is a process through which formal, non-formal and informal learning are measured, mediated for recognition across different contexts and certified against the requirements for credit, access, inclusion or advancement in the formal education and training system or workplace [SAQA]

In a nutshell – if you can prove your expertise in the property industry, can provide evidence that you have been sufficiently trained and are knowledgeable on all aspects of real estate, you can apply for the completion of the qualification via this method.

The training provider will perform checks to ascertain whether you are eligible for the programme.

Why should you consider NQF4 via our correspondence/ self-study method?

  • No contact sessions to attend
  • No additional costs for travel and accommodation
  • We send you your study material
  • Further assistance comes in the form of support notes
  • Should you need even more assistance are just an email or phone call away

Our team of trainers at iSiKolo, have developed a structured set of assignments which will guide you through this process.  There is one booklet with a number of tasks which will ensure that all the evidence you need to show is collected and collated.  This option is also less expensive than the full courses, but you will rely heavily on your real estate work experience as evidence with this option.

Certain qualifications exempts learners from these requirements.  This is ascertained on an individual level and it would be best to contact us to discuss this.

The benchmark rule is very simple:

Every agent/ principal who held an FFC prior to 15 July 2008 can be channeled via the RPL process.  In short this includes agents in all the following sectors within the real estate industry:

  • Residential sales agents
  • Commercial and/or industrial agents
  • Business brokers
  • Rental agents (residential & holiday letting)
  • Managing agents
  • Property admin agents
  • Time share consultants
  • Auctioneers of immovable property
  • Farm sale brokers

Furthermore, it is imperative to mention these qualifications can only be obtained through an accredited service provider.  iSiKolo is fully accredited by Services SETA (accreditation number 9972) and exit hundreds of candidate estate agents every year.  We are proud of our offering.
